Who is it for?
All students are welcome! However, it is best suited for students that thrive in a group environment. From our experience, students find small group tutoring more valuable and rewarding than one-to-one sessions, bouncing ideas off a peer group and learning from each other. Many students find one-to-one tutoring sessions daunting and intense, especially if they are not working with a tutor they are familiar with.
Our tutors get to know students, their abilities, and the support they need on a personal level that is often not achievable in a classroom setting. They will then follow up with homework and revision tasks to further strengthen their learning.
The Year 10 Course is also perfect for students that prefer a structured learning programme, rather than self study. The tutor may set small “homework” tasks for the group, encouraging students to continue learning between classes and building their independent learning skills.
How does it work?
Before enrolling every student has the opportunity to receive a free assessment with comprehensive feedback, to ensure they are a good fit for the course.
Courses run half-termly, however students can join at any point in the year and complete catch-up tasks.
All Course students log onto Zoom for each weekly session with their tutor. Sessions are recorded to enable students to refer back to them at a later date. The course benefits extend long beyond the last video session, with pre-learning tasks and homework tasks set to help students achieve and succeed!
